A Valuable Opinion
This speech is a funeral oration for Caesar by Antony. His argument is that Caesar was an honorable and ambitious man, and that he did not deserve to die. It was said after Brutus criticized Caesar. In reply, Antony defended Caesar.
In Antony's speech, he intends to get the croud to believe Caesar was an honorable man and he didn't deserve to die. In it, he says "When the poor have cried, Caesar hath wept"(1). He is pointing out that Caesar was a man who cared about the people he ruled. He says this to gain sympathy from the poeple of Rome. Antony intends to make the croud sympathetic for Caesar.
I believe Antony has good ethos and is trustworthy because he was a general in the military, a politician, and he was Julius Caesar's friend. Antony almost yells the speech at the audince showing that he is serious about what he's saying and he means what he is saying. He is a pretty easy person to believe because he has power, and he is known to the Roman people. He has gained trust in the people, therefore his ethos is good.
